Cherie as Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work with a clinical focus. Cherie is a Navy veteran who understands the unique needs of veterans and military population. Cherie has over 6 years’ experience working with children/teens, families, individuals experiencing life transition, substance use disorders and co-occurring disorder, depression, and anxiety. disorders

“I value the inner strength of each individual; I believe we in garnering that inner strength and partner with my clients to optimize their lives.” Cherie is of African descent and values the role of cultural in the healing process. She believes trauma is intertwined with different aspects of life and it is important to recognize these changes as we are growing in life. She works in collaboration with her clients’ efforts to assist individuals who may be navigating through challenging times and need support.

Cherie has the unique ability to offer empathetic concern that is focused on achieving personal change and growth goals. Cherie’s goal as a therapist is to compassionately help clients with processing, healing, and understanding their emotional, spiritual, psychological, and cultural identity with a whole mind and body approach. Cherie is passionate about assisting individuals with processing their traumatic experiences through using interventions such as Cognitive behavior therapy, positive solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and strength-based perspective.

Cherie is interested in opportunities to assist clients who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar, transitional concerns, adjustment challenges, low self-esteem, trauma affects, addiction, chronic health complications, and other mental health challenges. Cherie is open to working with all individuals who need help with some of her areas of expertise including aging veterans, individuals experiencing grief and loss, LGBTQIA+, special needs and many others.
